I recently got a Volkswagen Beetle, and I'm trying to figure out how to play my iphone in it. The wire that came with the car is not compatible with iPhones. I took my brothers wire that you're supposed to plug into the aux thing and it still wont play.
Whats a connector or something that I can buy to let it play and maybe even charge my phone too?|||Well if a standard auxiliary cable isn't working, then it can mean two things, it's either the car or the phone. You can test the phone by seeing if sound would normally play out of a set of working headphones. If sound does not come out of headphones, then of course it's the phone and you should head to your nearest apple store to get that phone replaced.
If the headphones, work, then unfortunately it's the car. Try another mp3 player or iPod on the auxillary cable, maybe even try a different auxillary cable. If none of this works, have a chat to your dealership, your stereo might need a software update.
As for other solutions, belkin makes a car charger, and auxiliary cable unit all in one thing. But if you have given up hope on auxiliary cables, then they also sell radio transmitters, that essentially broadcasts your music in a small radio signal that you can tune your car radio to. They work quite well, but sometimes it's hard to find an appropriate station to tune into, and sometimes in the city they can produce a lot of static noise.
Hope this helps!
