Does anyone now what happened to the Volkswagen Golf?

I can't seem to find the VW Golf, on the Volkswagen website.|||Volkswagen decided to change the name for the 2007 model Golf and rename it the Rabbit. This goes back to the original model name. In the late 70's and early 80's the original Golf was sold all over the world as the Golf but was sold, and some were built, in America as the Rabbit. So call it a Golf or a Rabbit, it's the same car.

Oh, all VW model names, Jetta, Golf, Corrado, etc are German words for types of wind if I remember correctly.|||If you are looking at www.vw.com, the golf is the GTI and the rabbit.|||LOOK FOR IT IN THE SHOW ROOM, NOT ON THE WEB SITE............NO WONDER YOU CANNOT FIND IT...

THE 2007 GOLF WAS RECENTLY UNVEILED|||I found these links on Google:

http://www.vw.com/rabbit/

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Volkswagen_Golf

http://autos.yahoo.com/newcars/volkswagen_golf_2006/4611/model_overview.html

I think the new name for it is 'Rabbit', since that first link says on it 'Official homepage of the vw golf'|||it's still there...just the majority of the US doesn't call it a Golf anymore, rather than a Rabbit (since many years) or now the fancier version, the GTI|||The Volkswagen Golf was originlly called the Rabbit. The argument in marketing in the U.S. was that you can love a rabbit, but what's a "golf"? So they switched the name back to Rabbit hoping that people will remember the fond memories they had of the original rabbit when it was designed by Guigiaro of ItalDesign. The GTI and R32 are the ultimate incarnations of the rabbit/golf. The R32 should be on the market again next year. It's a phenomenal car.|||Hopefully the R32 will return to the US. There are rumblings that it will be the R36. R32 is a great car but too expensive - it's competitors, the Evo, WRX and WRX STI are less expensive, lighter and better performers. Well, the EVO MR with all the bells and whistles is quite expensive.

Can't wait until the new STI limited it available. Then I'll have to decide to either wait for the R3X or buy the new STI (only 800 are being produced).

Another nice car to consider is the new VW Eos.|||The Golf was replaced by the VW rabbit. VWOA just thought that the Rabbit name would appeal more to people.
