I just purchased a 2007 Rabbit 12 days ago and today it would not start, everything comes on, the lights, heat, radio, all the power windows work but the car would not start, the battery is fine and all, but when I got to the dealer ship (finally made it..long story) they said they had never seen a new car with 700km have this issue. Have you ever had someone say something like this about new VW cars?

|||I work at Volkswagen and no one will admit this to any customer but most Volkswagens have electrical problems (not that it's a secret). My suggestion to all who are looking to purchase a VW, purchase with as little electronics as possible. Purchase aftermarket systems, etc.

|||My friend has VW Jetta, It pains her ***. She paid a lot of money for repairing many times. She gave up and traded it with Hyundai. The most European cars have the electric problems.

|||I've had four VWs, and all have had electrical problems.|||german parts dont run to well on english electric|||Never had any probs with electrics. Always with the light steering!|||YES!! My father owns an '03 VW Golf TDI. The damn thing always has a check engine light on. Thank god he has the warranty! Last time it was in the shop they told me that somebody had cut some of the stereo wires and that is why there was a problem with the electrical. Total BS because we are the only people to own the car and everything, inside and out, is stock.|||Rabbits(the first water cooled front engined VW's) have a problem with electrical because of water leakage from above it, either the windshield seal or body seams. And it seems to have go on into Jettas and Golfs. Once you stop the entry of water, it is good again. But yeah, people are selling their cars cheap because of the electrical. It can be fixed, but you got to do it. It costs too much if you had a mechanic do it.|||never had any electrical problems with my golf 4
